Helium for MRI, Oxygen for waste treatment, Cryogenic refrigerators for tissues preservation or for IVF, Nitrous Oxide for the relief of pain and anxiety etc., are merely few of the equipments and gases that are being supplied by the company. Those products contribute to the on-going advancement of science, medicine, industry and for the quality of life. Maxima was founded as a private company by Maxi Librati and the late Mr. Maurice Kahn (who gave the company its name). The company was founded in Mitzpe-Ramon in 1974.
Sites
The company has 1 major site in Ramat Hovav industrial zone (south of Beer Sheba). In this site, Maxima operates an air separation unit (ASU) to produce liquid gases as well as compressed gases. The ASU also serve customers with oxygen and nitrogen pipelines. In this site, Maxima also produces medical nitrous oxyde and gas mixtures. Maxima is currently building a second parallel site in Ashdod (a port city close to Tel-Aviv) including ASU for liquids, comppressd gases in cylinders and oxygen and nitrogen pipelines. In this site Maxima also produce gas mixture and has a Helium transfilling station. Maxima management, as well as the home-care activity which is managed by its subsidiary Maxima Medical) are also located in Ashdod. In Mitzpe Ramon, the company operates Acetylene plant as well as electronic gases terminal. In Mishor Rotem (close to Beer-Sheva) Maxima operates a big CO2 plant, and in Nitzana the company operates a border terminal for delivery of liquefied gases between Egypt and Israel.
The company employs nearly 130 people and has a sales turnover (2008) of NIS 118 Million. In 2004 the turnover was NIS 77 Million.
